Policy on tobacco research

On ethical and moral grounds, the National Wellbeing Service Ltd journals will not accept any research papers that are funded or partially funded by the tobacco industry. A number of publications have a similar policy (eg 1; 2).

With Open Access journals, if authors want to have have full open access for their articles a fee is normally paid by them, their organisation or funding body (directly or indirectly) to the journal publisher. As a wellbeing organisation, the National Wellbeing Service Ltd (and affiliated companies) does not want to accept money from the tobacco industry directly or indirectly by publishing their funded research papers, consultancy or any other services.
